Call to Action! The people of Mieh-Mieh, Lebanon need our help! 2020 has brought on several dire circumstances. The Coronavirus pandemic has created an economic crisis and the recent explosion in Beirut has caused devastating effects across the country. We have created a matching fundraiser to help alleviate the economic suffering and we need your help.
The people of Mieh-Mieh are experiencing high levels of job loss and the value of the Lebanese lira has dropped significantly, leaving many families without income or any other forms of assistance. Before the Beirut explosion, our Mieh-Mieh Community committee members had been in direct contact with Father Maroun and Father Milad from the church of Mieh-Mieh to learn about the great need for food and supplies. The Mieh-Mieh Community donated $6,000 directly to the church to purchase and distribute food, medicine, and other supplies to families in need. This has benefitted over 75 families who are very grateful to have been blessed by this gift. Now that the port in Lebanon has been destroyed, the devastation continues to grow as lives have been lost, infrastructure is weak, more jobs are eliminated, and the economic crisis widens. And now more than ever, even more families need help.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation that will go directly to the families in Mieh-Mieh who need the most help. Our goal is to raise $25,000 and the Mieh-Mieh Community will match 50% of all donations made by August 31. Please click here to donate and help spread the word.

Mieh-Mieh Lebanese Community
The Mieh-Mieh Lebanese Community (MMLC) was formed by Lebanese immigrants who descended from the Mieh-Mieh village. Due to the country's 1975-90 Civil War, villagers refuged overseas to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United States. This organization is a means for keeping in touch with family, friends, and neighbors and also to preserve the friendship, unity, heritage, culture, and language.
